Asteroid (90) Antiope was discovered in 1866, but in 2000 it was found to exist as two bodies. It is currently the best studied binary. There is an occultation predicted for UK observers on September 21st, at 03Hrs UT. See HBAA 2024, page 55

Members of the Association inside or close to edge of the shadow are invited to observe the star from their home locations, and report what they see or record. The most accurate timings are not required (although desired), but a video recording with some timing (+/- 0.5sec UT) would be terrific. If enough observations, then we can report a more detailed shape. Please use software that will add the computer time to the frames either FITS or SER format.

The Asteroids and Remote Planets Section will be pleased to receive all observations.
We hope the weather cooperates !
