Photo of Frank McClean

I have been contacted by a non-astronomer who is researching the family of the pioneering spectroscopist, Frank McClean (1837-1904), especially their engineering connexions. She asks me if there is a photo of Frank (not to be confused with his son Sir Francis Kennedy McClean (1876-1955), aka Frank). Might anyone know?

Hi Jack,

I do not see a picture of McClean in my copy of Analysis of Starlight, only descriptions of his work.Jeremy’s request was for a reference to a picture of him.Attached is a picture of him from the PDF I referred to in my earlier post.

The Analysis of Starlight by Hearnshaw p.59 2 paragraphs on Frank McLean.

But no picture, however the book gives some background information.
