ParticipantI am currently collating photos and videos that members have taken of the recent eclipse.
This is for a presentation at the AGM in October.
If anyone has anything they are happy to contribute please let me know – preferably with a link.
Thank you,

Dominic FordKeymasterIn case you’re not already aware, you can find a gallery of all the images in the BAA image gallery that are tagged with ‘Eclipse’ here: https://britastro.org/observations/index.php?library=0&tagged_object=Eclipse
Best wishes,
Dominic

ParticipantAre you just interested in a) actual videos and b) only of the total phase? I ask becasue I have created an animation of the 91% partial eclipse as seen from north-Suffolk. I took an image every 5 minutes and assembled the results into an animation with each “frame” cross-fading into the next to give an impression of the movement of the Moon across the Sun’s face. The part leading up to, through and just after maximum eclipse is particularly striking, with the uneclipsed crescent of the Sun appearing to rotate round the Moon’s disc! Any interest? If so, I could add it as an attachment to my next reply or you could give me an email address to send it to. (MP4, 463Kbytes)

ParticipantThank you Dominic,
I had looked through the solat section uploads but hadn’t had the sense to try the word eclipse!

ParticipantSteven,
I hope to have stills and short videos both from along the eclipse track and from the UK. A short video showing the moon sliding past from the UK would be very good so please do send it. You can use info@crayfordmanorasto.com
Thank you,

ParticipantI must again emphasise that my contribution is an animation, not a video, but hopefully of interest nonetheless. I have sent it to you on (nearly!) the email address you mentioned – I assumed it must end in “astro” not “asto”!
