I saw the pair last night and took a picture with my Seestar

Thank you. My camera is a WAT-902H2 ULTIMATE.
I got it used in a pile of equipment I bought some years ago. It came with a lot of cables, mostly with video plugs.
I have never used it, but there is a manual/fact sheet so I guess I could make it work.(Though I don’t like this sentence from the set-up section: Turn on the power to the WAT, the monitor and other equipment. When a strong smell of burning is present, or smoke is visible, turn off the power…)
I observed from a carpark at Beacon Hill Hillfort just off the A34 South of Newbury. It was close to the mid-shadow line. Transparency was poor with thin cloud moving through but it was clear enough to see the pole star and the major constellations.
Equipped with a Vixen Polarie and WAT-910HX + 135mm F2.8 lens attached, i was able to find the target by star hopping. To do this I compared SkyMapPro and the video display. The occultation itself was not seen live on the monitor. When i got home, I analysed the AVI recording. There is a small brief dip at the predicted time. No fade was recorded.
It was more of challenge than i had expected, and i was pleased that the 50 mile drive from home resulted with a successful recording although no clear event.

I used to record asteroid occultations visually years ago but would like to try with a camera.
I have a Wat-908 (I think) somewhere and guess that it can be used.
Could you give some details of your setup and software?
Having been lucky enough to have had an excellent view of the total solar eclipse on 8th April, I have been unable to find the “official numbers” of the two sunspots prominently visible that day, nor indeed any images showing them on an uneclipsed disc (labelled or otherwise). Can anyone help please?

Might it have been the thread on the BAA song? That mentions the February Journal from 1924 rather than 2024.

In JBAA Dec. 2023, the president writes as a reason for canceling honorary memberships
The BAA currently has most of its membership in the Senior (over 65s) category
This is unfortunately clear when we see pictures from the various events. Apparently very few younger people participate.
I myself have had the honor of being named an honorary member. Over the years, I have benefited greatly from the membership, and both I and the membership would survive, even if this distinction did not exist. And I would think that only very few would give up membership if they had no prospect of this honour.
So a scrapping of honorary memberships is unlikely to reduce the membership significantly.
However, this does not solve the age problem.
The question is whether BAA has become an old-fashioned institution that fails to attract the new generations.
The competition is of course tough today with all kinds of offers on-line, and I could fear that the situation is the same for the local clubs.
Instead of deleting the associations from the membership list, perhaps BAA should create advantageous membership offers for club members, so that we could get more younger people into the organization that way.
Can you tell anything about the costs? There must be a monhtly rent or something? and what is your price for the equipment?
