Mr Jack MartinParticipant
Grant and Paul,
Its a Paramount MX with a 70 star T point model.
I use http://www.thinkman.com/dimension4/default.htm to set the clock.
Question for Grant: Are you saying that if I change my lat lon location in TheSkyX I have to do another T point run?
Regards,
JackMr Jack MartinParticipantGrant,
I can’t see your post?
Regards,
JackMr Jack MartinParticipantA conundrum Google Earth says 51.59 36 0.60 77 The SkyX X says 51.37 45 0.36 27.
Question: If TheSkyX co ordinates are wrong would that explain why the target is not dead centre in the field of view.
It has a T point model.
Which one is correct?
JackMr Jack MartinParticipantAwesome spectrum Bill.

Mr Jack MartinParticipantSheridan,
A later version 10.2.0 or newer SkyX software needs to be installed this works with Windows 7 or 10.

JackMr Jack MartinParticipantCongratulations Dr Wilson.
JackMr Jack MartinParticipantAndy and Robin,
I have 2 slits and slot supports and changed from the 35 to the 23 micron slit.It appears the latter is faulty.
Question, Would the wide slits be useful?

Mr Jack MartinParticipantPeter and William,
Because the computer was displaying a black background, I could not see the text in the status bar.
So, in Personalisation settings change to a standard Microsoft picture.
All working.
Thanks for you help.
JackMr Jack MartinParticipantWilliam,
I have installed the Ascom platform.
Regards,
JackMr Jack MartinParticipantWilliam,
Thanks for the pointers I am installing on a ‘new’ Windows 10 system.
Regards,
JackMr Jack MartinParticipantPeter and William,
I should have explained I am installing Maxim on a new computer.
I followed your instructions but don’t see any numbers or i value?
Thanks for your inputs,
JackMr Jack MartinParticipantPeter,
Thanks for your input.

JackMr Jack MartinParticipantRobin,
‘I recall you have a remote adjustment, could this have been preloading it causing premature wear’?Are you advising against motorising the micrometer ?
Regards,
JackMr Jack MartinParticipantRobin,
I have released the collar. When tightened then slackened a fraction of a turn the micrometer is easier to turn.
It may be worth an overhaul as you suggest.
Thanks for your advices,
JackMr Jack MartinParticipantRobin,
It became increasingly tight over time.
From your photos and comparing with the other Lhires the collar looks engaged.
I will overhaul it as you suggest.
Question 1; What lubricant should be used and is there a risk of it getting on the grating?
The remote adjustment is the motorised collimating lens.
Regards,
JackMr Jack MartinParticipantRobin,
I loosened the grub screw but can’t turn the locking collar.
Regards,
JackMr Jack MartinParticipantRobin,
Thanks for the photos.
I will have another go at removing the grub screw.
I have another Lhires could swap micrometer shafts see if that works.
Regards,
JackMr Jack MartinParticipantRobin,
I can’t loosen the tiny crosshead grub screw which must be very tight.
Is there a particular type of screwdriver or extractor?
Regards,
Jack -
