    Robin,
    Thank you for the link.
I see what to do now.
I’ll have a go at it.
THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR THEIR ADVICES.

    James,
    I looked at both links.
Followed instructions got the badge off but no bolt. Took the dovetail plate off but no access to bolt (on either side).
I think the manufacturer changed design to what’s described in link, and special tools are probably needed to service it.
No one appears to provide such a service.
    Thanks for your help,
    Jack

    David,
I will see you at the Jan 18 meeting.
Thank you for the mount head.
Longer flexible rods definitely work better.

    David,
Thanks for the information regarding the build quality.
The slow motion controls leave a lot to be desired too.
Thank you will you be at Saturday Astrofest to collect.
    Happy New Year,

    Paul,
This is not a new story and people need to be careful when they class themselves as urban explorers as they are trespassing.
It used to be Newcastle University observatory site. The land at Close house was sold and turned into a hotel. The site was left to deteriorate and despite numerous approaches to the hotel and Newcastle University no response from them was ever received.
Newcastle Astro along with Sunderland and Durham and John Nichol sadly gave up trying to save this historically important site.
Heartbreaking to see what has become of it.
    Regards,
    Jack

    Ian,
I was using it with a camera no issue.
I am using a diagonal with 2 spacers screwed into to the eyepiece barrel to achieve focus for visual.
I was not aware this was an issue with some refractors.
That’s a question people should ask when buying for visual use as I suspect it won’t be mentioned in the specs!

    Jack

    Giovanni,
    You have understood correctly.
So, I am using spacers to achieve focus.
I was not aware this could be an issue with some telescopes!

    Grant and Paul,
Its a Paramount MX with a 70 star T point model.
I use http://www.thinkman.com/dimension4/default.htm to set the clock.
Question for Grant: Are you saying that if I change my lat lon location in TheSkyX I have to do another T point run?
    Regards,
    Jack

    A conundrum Google Earth says 51.59 36 0.60 77 The SkyX X says 51.37 45 0.36 27.
Question: If TheSkyX co ordinates are wrong would that explain why the target is not dead centre in the field of view.
It has a T point model.
    Which one is correct?

A later version 10.2.0 or newer SkyX software needs to be installed this works with Windows 7 or 10.

    Andy and Robin,
I have 2 slits and slot supports and changed from the 35 to the 23 micron slit.

It appears the latter is faulty.

Question, Would the wide slits be useful?

    Peter and William,
Because the computer was displaying a black background, I could not see the text in the status bar.
So, in Personalisation settings change to a standard Microsoft picture.
    All working.
    Thanks for you help.
