Amateur astrophotographer using a range of equipment on two permanent piers in the back garden in a suburban location with a degree of light pollution. One of the two piers is in a home-built observatory with a roll-off roof. Particular astronomical interests include planetary and deep sky imaging, as well as photographing comets and other transient objects. Other interests include art (have been known to paint the odd astronomical subject), chess, gardening and writing books about fraud investigation.
