Nice images you have there David. There is one thing, however, I don’t quite understand: Oval BA doesn’t seems to be getting "unwound" or in other form diminished by the interaction with the GRS. In fact, looking at most recent images (the one of the 10th c.m.), it seems pretty much the same old self of the recent past years.Reg’sAndrea T.

He didn’t actually say it was his first attempt at planetary imaging!Andrea was also a well-known planetary imager before he took to the planetary nebulae.

Thanks for the information Dale, I’ll give it a try.Paul: Re car boot sales near here, there is a big one every Sunday on Mona show site. We went last sunday, but as the forecast was not good there were not many there and anyway the Police thought it would be 2/3 weeks before anything turns up, so we are still hunting. I’ll certainly contact Gwynedd. The skies are still dark here!!Thanks for suggestions

This sketch was made by Dale Holt using a spectrohelioscope on the 3rd of July 2010 showing AR1084 and associated filaments.

Below are two images by Dave Tyler showing southern sunspot AR1084 in Hydrogen-alpha which is now approaching the western limb and also a long filament in the northern hemisphere of the solar disk which has persisted for some days. Both images were taken on 3rd July 2010.

There is a huge filament on the solar disk just now as this drawing by Erika Rix shows. It’s hurricane season in Scotland today so I hope you have better luck observing than me!

It’s nice to see Jupiter again isn’t it.You have a fine set of images there Andrea, and despite the planets low altitude. You’ve managed to capture, and process a wealth of detail.

I would also keep an eye open for any up and coming car boot sales. I think they have one at Llangefni but I can’t be sure. I would also visit Gwynedd AS in Bangor or e-mail the secretary, and let there members know what you’ve lost.I am sorry to read this. My mother & father have a static van at St David’s, Red Wharf bay. I have been over there on numerous occasions and when the skies are clear, it is very dark.Good luck, and I hope that you’re soon able to recover these lost possessions.
