Mr Jack MartinParticipant
Andy,
The Skywatcher flip mirror is adjustable up / down by turning a grub screw with allen key at the bottom of the unit.

Mr Jack MartinParticipantThis is the electronic / visual finder I use Atik 314 – Skywatcher flip mirror – Borg 45 ed modular which I just finished setting up incase of a camera or computer failure.
BUT there appears to be no sideways adjustment (only up and down for the mirror) for getting the object in the centre of the eyepiece crosshairs, which is disappointing but at least the object is in the field of view !

Mr Jack MartinParticipantAndy,

Mr Jack MartinParticipantAndrew,
Congratulations on your achievement.
To be able to build an echelle spectrograph and get it to work is not easy.
With a special interest in Spectroscopy I feel so privileged to be amongst such a talented bunch of like minded people.
Perhaps one day you will give a presentation to the BAA on how you accomplished such a worthwhile project.
I am especially interested in the technical side.

Mr Jack MartinParticipantTHANK YOU everyone for your comments.
We are lucky indeed to have software that filters out this nuisance.
Its only a matter of time before they arrive where I live, but at least the lights are switched off from 1 to 5am.
I have seen both types at night next to each other, a strange site !

Its certainly not a cheap hobby but if you want to do scientifically useful work its worth the expense and the rewards.
I have been monitoring vv cep since 2015-08-26 now have over 90 nights of data.

Mr Jack MartinParticipantDavid,
I glad you solved the problem.
Paul,
I have not heard of this problem with the 414ex, but the one I had suffered from interference fringes especially visible on the flats, caused by the glass cover over the chip, so I exchanged for the 460 ex which works well.
