My daughter is interested in learning sign language, and the other day she found an astronomically related video which she showed me, and which might interest members:

I have watched this short film, and in it an actor takes the part of Goodricke, some of his work on one particular variable star is described, and we also see his home and the location of the family grave. Goodricke had a very brief life, but his achievements were remarkable. What is nice about this uplifting film is the extensive use of sign language throughout. Forms of sign language were already well established by the 18th century.

I wonder what else John Goodricke might have accomplished has he lived longer.A very nice presentation summarising his life and work.
