Mr Ian David SharpParticipant
Unless there is something seriously off with my routine, I captured it at around magnitude 13 yesterday. Here is a series designed for mag 16 (Clear filter, 5 min exposures).
That’s amazing Magnus!
Poor weather here last night, but I reckon there’s a decent chance I’ll be able to get it again tonight.
Cheers
Ian.Mr Ian David SharpParticipantHi all,
I managed 26 x 180s images last night – see attached. I concur with Gary and Magnus that it is down at about mag. 16.2 in V.

Mr Ian David SharpParticipantHi all,
My recent measurements in V show a very linear looking fade. I just added last night’s measurements.

Mr Ian David SharpParticipantHi all,
I managed a few measurements last night. The slow fade continues.

Mr Ian David SharpParticipantHi all,
A real drop in brightness, much fainter tonight. Here are 50 more measurements from here in the UK.

Mr Ian David SharpParticipantHi all,
I managed 39, 120s exposures last night from here in the South of the UK. The sky was very milky due to the Canadian wildfires, so the quality was not as I had hoped. Graph attached and data in BAA and AAVSO databases.

Mr Ian David SharpParticipantAnother update, nearly 10,000 brightness measurements in the last two outbursts.
There are some fascinating details in the variability within the daily bursts of measurements. I need to analyse them further to see what they contain.

Mr Ian David SharpParticipantHi all,
I managed 18 decent measurements in V last night with SNR around 150 and the average was 12.87 – see attached.

Mr Ian David SharpParticipantHi all,
Eight consecutive nights from my C11 in Spain shown here – the graceful decline continues…

Mr Ian David SharpParticipantHi all,
Just processed 7 images from Spain overnight. Average of 12.38 in V. See attached. Data has been uploaded.

Mr Ian David SharpParticipantHi all,
Here’s an update on SS Cygni. I’ve been intensely monitoring the star for the last two outbursts and have made nearly 7,000 photometric measurements in the R and V bands in that time. It’s noticeable how variable the magnitude is especially during the dim portion of the cycle pre-outburst. Also, two very different widths of outburst.
See attached light curve from the photometry database.

Mr Ian David SharpParticipantI’ve uploaded results from last night. Now slipping back to nearly mag 18 in V again.

Mr Ian David SharpParticipantHi all,
It’s a very slow decline, almost steady over the past 2 nights.

Ian.Mr Ian David SharpParticipantHi all,
I uploaded a series of V mags to the database from last night. It was at around 10.7 V.

Mr Ian David SharpParticipantIs this data merged with the 16.3V companion, or has that been extracted? Just curious.
Hi Gary,
Here’s a zoomed section of one of my images from last night when it was about magV 17.5 in AstroArt showing the 6,3,3 apertures used. The ref star on the right is the companion I think. It is number 4 in the list shown. This is 120 secs binned 2×2 with my C11 in Spain.
Tonight I’ll try with the L filter and go 180 secs.
Cheers
