Reasonably clear a few high altitude clouds, hindered by my neighbours washing setting off her security light in a the gentle breeze. So wait 5 minutes until it goes out.

Seems to be fading when compared to the weekend, last night I estimated it at mag7.9

Good  program and an interesting telescope, prism instead of a flat was unexpected but nice to see it restored. I wonder who recoated the mirror and I wonder if it was tested to see how good the figure was. No centre spot on the mirror to aid collimation.

Interesting clip, alas with oneweb Starlink etc the problem will get worse, I wonder how professional observatories cope to protect the sensors of their instruments

I’ve heard that some of Space x satellites leak into frequencies used by radio astronomy.

Since March I’ve been following with interest V1405 Cas, I can’t remember a session observing with my binoculars that a satellite didn’t cross my field of view. They are certainly a pest

It’s faded quickly, this time last night (21:50UT) I could easily see it in 15×70 binocular, now I can’t pick it up. I’ll wait until it gets a bit darker

abandoned at 22:38UT as a bank of cloud has appeared

In the twilight using opticron 15×70 binoculars I estimate the magnitude as 5.8

I had a quick look last night at around 21:45ut and it seemed around mag7 but sky conditions weren’t that good due to haze. I wonder if that’s it for the second peak and it will fade or even if we will see more peaks, very interesting article in the latest vas circular about it being miss- classified ages ago. Thinking about it how accurate was the position as it’s a crowded star field

Couldn’t see it without my 15×70 binoculars, at 22:30ut last night I estimated it was around 7.5, typo error not 5.5 as I previously wrote. Observed it in 31st through haze and it seemed about the same as the previous night. But not the best conditions to observe

Clouds interfered last night but first glimpse I’ve had of it for a week through my opticron 15×70’s, difficult to estimate the magnitude due to clouds but I estimate around 7.8. Seems to have brightened quite a bit since a week ago

I caught a glimpse of in between the clouds with my 15×70 binocular, developing well.

Pity it’s cloud, when I looked at it last Thursday it appeared to be mag 8.3 but trees are beginning to interfere. Interesting nova I’ll have to start submitting my observations one day

Nice picture, is that the nebulosity around the Bubble Nebula coming into view at the bottom. I managed to spot it during a brief break in the clouds through binoculars

Howard Miles was the director from it’s inception in 1960 until 1997 when presumably it was disbanded, details from the Historical Section directors of the BAA. Page 96 of the excellent book The British Astronomical Association the second fifty years  gives a potted history.
