I hope you don’t mind. But I have just posted a link to your advert on our Macclesfield AS message board. Our society are affiliated members. And I thought this might be of interest. It is an excellent telescope. I have one.
I also thought the same as Bill.
But soon realised it couldn’t be because of its angle and direction in the sky.
I agree Jeremy. The weather during 2023 has been very unsuitable for astronomy, both visual and for imaging.
I can recall how the weather changed during April and May, with a move in the jet stream, resulting in very worm weather with clear skies. But the increase in day length didn’t help.I have noticed how the skies have changed since the 1970s. Economy holidays are one major cause. I noticed last year. When we had clear skies. The sky wasn’t blue but a sort of hazy white blue, with contrails criss-crossing the sky.
I did manage to do some Astro-Imaging. Especially during the latter half of the year. But again. When we had a clear sky, it was almost at the time of Full Moon.

I am very sorry to read the sad news of Roger’s passing.
Although I didn’t know him.
He came across as being very friendly and a gentleman. I met him twice, once at one of our Macclesfield AS-BAA autumn weekends many years ago. And at a VSS meeting in Manchester.I’m glad it isn’t just my JBAA that’s gone AWOL then.
Maybe there is an issue with our membership details.
Anyone from the BAA office/committee know what’s going on?
I remember seeing Bob at Kelling and other Astronomy events.
I never new him personally. And I was very shocked to read today’s news.He will be sadly missed.
The mirrors being open to the space environment was something that worried me. I also wonder why they didn’t implement the same tech for cleaning the mirrors as we all have in our DSLR cameras?

Will you be restoring it? And have you a clue who made it.
I think the weather and the fact that it is, supposed to be Summer may have an impact. People are on holiday or working in the garden.
I haven’t posted anything lately simply because the Weather has been awful. When the Sun does shine, the skies are usually crystal clear, but I’m at work. And it’s not really dark enough to do any Astro-imaging or visual observing.That said. I do like the new look Webb site.
I have, for the moment. Decided to keep this book.
It is very interesting and full of information and facts that I wasn’t aware of.
